Have any suggestions on activating youth to participate? With the exception of a couple of activities our youth have been absent from most of our horizons activities. Maybe the girls pictured here can offer some suggestions.

Hi, I am from Whitewood, South Dakota, another great Horizons community. We made up a Welcome to the Community Packets that have been successful. The cost was almost nothing ($5.30 for 25) then each business, government organization (post office, school, etc.) and organization added their little notes of welcome. That way the cost was dispersed so much that no one had to pay a big bill. We have gone through the first 25 faster than we thought we would (about 9 weeks) so we are now making up 50 more. Again, everyone is chipping in so the cost is not much to any one. The people at our city hall give out the packets when people get their water turned on. We gave a few to the library for those new residences that on not within the city limits so no water bill but do have children in school so they register for a library card. If you are interested in seeing what we did I could send you a sample. Let me know. email: ponida@rushmore.com

The website looks great -- thanks to Eugene & Myron for working on it. And I love the new header -- makes me wish for Summer and some time on that beach!
